A Transformation!

I was very proud of my wife, Lesley, today.  She was sworn in as an American citizen at 9:36 am.
It was a very impressive ceremony taking place in a Federal Court building along with 54 other new citizens from 31 different countries.  The judicial staff was very personable with the judge making poignant remarks about what was being undertaken.  There were two acappela musical numbers, Pledge of Allegiance and the Oath administration.  The certificates of citizenship were individually presented to each person with an opportunity to photograph the event.  The Naturalization Ceremony is the only time cameras are allowed in the Federal courtroom.  I realized this was a unique event that many people never get to experience and I am appreciative of my wife and love her for the sacrifices she has made to become an American Citizen.
