Yes, I Am Still Alive!

Well, at least this time it has been four months since my last entry instead of a year! So I have some updates since.

The job that I had didn't work out after all.  I learned that I didn't like doing customer service phone support for Verizon.  I mean I really hated it. I HATED IT A LOT!!  There, I feel better now. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to bail on it because, after all, I needed the job, so I let Fate decide: 

The family was planning a reunion where we all got together from around the country for a week long fun fest. Well, I didn't want to miss any of it. The activities started on Tuesday and ended on Saturday. My work schedule went from Sunday through Thursday. I thought that wasn't too bad, I would miss three days of work. The job was still in the midst of 14 weeks of training. The way it dragged on, it could have been done in half that, so I figured I can catch up three days of it. I asked my trainer for the three days, she said she would have to check with her boss. Her boss said she would have to check with HER boss and would get back to me by the end of shift. Really? I have to go through three people to get three unpaid days off?  So at the end of shift I asked what the verdict was. They said "No." I said,  "Do I turn my badge in now?" I was feeling a lot of satisfaction when I walked out the door.


It all worked out. I went ahead and started my Social Security benefits. Then I became a free lance technician, picking the jobs I want to do and loving it.
