2014 New Year's Resolutions

We are creatures of habit.  One habit that many of us are enslaved to, is the idea of improving ourselves with the personal promises made via a list of New Year's resolutions.  And what's wrong with that?  Because we are Human, we often fall short of our goals, but at least we try.
Of course it is important to make realistic and attainable resolutions.  If I were to make lofty resolutions, it would be something like this:

1.  Invent something that will make me rich and accomplish World Peace.
2.  Start a get fit program that will sculpt me into an Adonis.
3.  Rid myself of all bad habits and annoyances and be perfect in every way.

That sounds easy enough, eh?  Not.  It is better to build success upon success with accomplishments that we can reach.  OK, let me try again:

1.  Get into better shape by working out regularly.
2.  Refrain from speaking negatively.
3.  When conversing, refrain from interrupting and changing the subject.
4.  Finish the projects I start and have started in a reasonable amount of time.
5.  Be a better listener.

I think I could make a very long list, but Rome wasn't built in a day.  Point is, every little bit helps.  Be honest with yourself, get constructive input from those close to you, and go from there.

With that, let me wish you a Happy New Year with the hope that it will be a good year or at least a better year for one and all.

Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
