 It seems that whenever something becomes successful, i.e. Blogger.com, those running the show decide to make it even more about them. Case in point, I have noticed that email notifications of my blog don't appear to work anymore. I suspect it is because of the following notification I received from Google. They suggest that I notify my readers of the change, but I am wondering how that will do any good if they cannot get to my blog.  Maybe it is time to change my blog platform. Anyway, here is an excerpt from the notice:

December 21, 2015...... starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count. We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow........

Toys On The Floor

  Years ago, there were a half dozen of my kids running around on the floor (fondly referred to as 'Crumb Crushers').  Consequently, there were always toys lying around on the floor to dodge.


When they were all grown up, it was only natural to have an occasionally toy on the floor from visiting grandchildren.



However, I never thought about having to avoid toys on the floor that my dog left!

"It Feels Like Someone Is Watching Me......."

  It's interesting how words and phrases change their meanings over time.
  For example, 'CD' use to be a banking term meaning 'Certificate of Deposit'. Now it means 'Compact Disc'.  Even that term is old as the usage of compact discs has diminished.





  Or another is 'link'. In the past the first thing that would come to mind is a part of a chain, now it is a way to get to a website.  That is an easy segue to 'web'. It was commonly thought of as a trap made by spiders, now it is the invisible network of the internet.  And on and on.....








  Phrases change their meaning as well.  One example; if one said "I feel like I am being watched" say, forty years ago, a listener would assume that the speaker is suffering from paranoia or is really being watched from the shadows.  Now if that was said today, one of the first thoughts by a listener would worry that the speaker might become a victim of identity theft.
