Life Forces - Chapter 1 - Love

emo_love1.jpg image by findstuff22  Probably of all our emotional traits, Love is the most complex.  Unfortunately, Love has more then one meaning.  The Greeks were more on the ball, because they had different words for the four different kinds of LoveStorge is the word for Affection, between family members, for example.  Phileo means Friendship, such as a strong bond between people who have a common interest.  Eros is the love between a man and a women.  And finally we have Agape which is a charitable love and is often used in a religious sense.
As I had mentioned before, our different emotions can have links with each other.  Love is no exception because it contains Joy and Trust, two of the nine basic emotions I previously mentioned.  Often times, as many of us can attest, Love will rule our heart instead of our head.  Also, depending on the course it takes, it can lead to most, if not all, of the other emotions.  I dare say, that Love is probably the only emotion that will countermand one of our strongest instincts and that is self-preservation.  A parent might be ready to give up there own life to safe the life of their child.
Love makes life very complicated but as the song says, Love Makes The World Go Round.

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. - Lao Tzu
