Life Forces - Prologue

The human mind has incredible power, at least over the body that it is contained in.  The mind can make oneself do things that surpass expectations or can make it completely passive or anything in between.  What I am talking about are the emotions and traits that are contained in the mind that affect everything we do and how we feel.  There are several names that cover a gamut of these characteristics.  What makes it more interesting and less clear (how is that for a quandary?) is that they are all intertwined together to one degree or another.  It is hard to talk about family without including love, or prejudice without including anger, etc.
Theorists and psychologists very in opinion but, essentially, the basic emotions are: Love, Joy, Trust, Fear, Surprise, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Anticipation. From these there is a multitude of other connected emotions.
Without getting technical (because I am, by no means, an expert!), in subsequent blog entries, I am going to try to elaborate on some of these factors that make us unique.  Of course I welcome any comments and opinions about my interpretations and thoughts.

Feelings are not supposed to be logical. Dangerous is the man who has rationalized his emotions. - David Borenstein
